Essential Skills, Experience & Qualifications

- Demonstrated capability to engage respectfully with Elders and community, supporting culturally informed learning, teaching, and relationship-building.

- Minimum qualification of Certificate III Conservation and Ecosystem Management (or similar)

- Provide excellent customer service skills

- Demonstrated high level of leadership and project management skills, including ability to effectively manage risks, contracts, work plans and staff.

- Work independently and as part of a team in a professional and positive manner with the ability to be tactful and discrete when dealing with matters of sensitive nature

- Prioritise tasks to meet deadliness and workflows

- Computer literacy and developed word processing skills (i.e. MS Word functions, typing skills etc.)

- Experience and knowledge of current administrative work practices (i.e. filing, operation of office equipment etc.)

- Very good written and verbal communication skills (i.e. able to communicate effectively via email, take relevant telephone messages etc.)

- Coordinate, create and provide engaging community cultural visits for educational and other community organisations

- Adaptable in working hours for occasional tasks out of normal work hours, if required

- Possess a good level of physical fitness and health

- Police check (less than 3 months old)

- Agricultural Chemicals Distribution Control (ACDC) licence (or ability to obtain within 2 months of commencement)

- Current C class driver’s licence (Manual preferred)

- Coxswain licence (highly desirable)





- Current First Aid Certificate and CPR (desirable)

- Yellow Card (Disability Worker Screening Card) (or ability to obtain within 2 months of commencement)

- Blue Card for Working with Children (or ability to obtain within 2 months of commencement)

- Previous experience within a similar role is an advantage

- The successful applicant will be subject to pre-employment checks before appointment

About the Role

TAC is seeking a Ranger Coordinator who will implement and deliver projects within Taribelang Aboriginal Corporation’s Ranger Program. Project activities may include cultural burning, cultural heritage management, ecological restoration, catchment management, community engagement, threatened species management and monitoring and maintenance work. This position is a temporary full-time position of 76 hours per fortnight. Wage will be under the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Employees Award – State 2016. Taribelang Bunda people, females and people with cultural connections to the Port Curtis Coral Coast region are strongly encouraged to apply.
