About the role

The AOD Support Worker provides practical day-to-day support to clients in the residential AOD program and contributes to a safe, structured and culturally respectful environment. This position involves shift work and supports clients with daily routines, participation in programs and activities, basic wellbeing needs and positive engagement with the service. The position works closely with the residential team to monitor client safety, encourage respectful behaviour, maintain clear communication and promptly escalate any risks or concerns to the AOD Residential Support Team Leader.

About you

- Experience in alcohol and other drug, residential, community services, youth, health, homelessness or related support work.

- Ability to provide practical, respectful and client-centered support within a residential setting.

- Sound understanding of client safety, duty of care, professional boundaries, confidentiality and incident response.

- Ability to work rostered shifts and contribute to a safe, structured and supportive residential setting.

- Ability to complete handovers, referrals and clear communication to support continuity of care.

- Sound knowledge and ability to use a client management system and maintain accurate progress notes during each rostered shift.

- Ability to provide medication administering support in accordance with organisational procedures and safety requirements.

- Good communication, observation, teamwork and recordkeeping skills.

- Demonstrated ability to work respectfully with Aboriginal people, families and communities.

- Current National Police Clearance, Working with Children Check,



current First Aid and driver's license, or ability to obtain.
