Position Type: Permanent Full Time (9 day fortnight, 36.25 hours/week)

Salary Range: LGO6 ($102,640 - $109,563 per annum + superannuation) based on skills, qualifications and experience

Location: Townsville

About the Role:

As a Senior Technical Sustainability Officer, you will help shape and deliver sustainability initiatives that create lasting benefits for the Townsville community. Working across a diverse range of environmental programs, you'll contribute to projects focused on natural asset management, waterway health, climate resilience, environmental restoration, resource recovery and sustainable land management. Your work will support Council's commitment to building a more sustainable, resilient and environmentally responsible future.

This is an opportunity to work collaboratively with community groups, Traditional Owners, schools, industry and government partners to drive meaningful environmental outcomes. You'll provide specialist advice, support evidence-based decision-making, and help develop innovative projects and partnerships that strengthen environmental stewardship while delivering positive outcomes for both the community and the natural environment.

About you:

You will bring a passion for sustainability and environmental outcomes, along with the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders to deliver meaningful projects and initiatives. To be successful, you will have:

- Qualifications in sustainability, environmental science, natural resource management, water management, or a related discipline.
- Experience delivering sustainability, environmental, natural resource management, climate resilience, resource recovery,



or community-focused projects and programs.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, partnership-building and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across community, industry, government and internal teams.
- The ability to think strategically, lead positive change, and identify creative solutions to environmental and sustainability challenges.
- A current Queensland C Class Driver Licence and the ability to work across the Townsville region as required.
