Boilermaker Apprentice
Cert III Engineering – Fabrication Trade – (AUR30305)
As a Boilermaker Apprentice, you'll learn how to manufacture, maintain, repair and assemble a wide range of fabricated components and structures.
Working alongside qualified tradespeople, you'll gain experience on projects including:
- Truck builds and modifications
- Train wagon maintenance and repairs
- Mine site maintenance projects
- Custom fabrication work
- Heavy industry maintenance activities
- Unique one-off engineering projects
You will learn how to:
- Read and interpret engineering drawings
- Fabricate and assemble metal components
- Perform welding and cutting activities
- Use fabrication tools and workshop equipment
- Work with a range of materials and applications
- Deliver quality workmanship safely and efficiently
Fitter Apprentice
Cert III Engineering - Mechanical Trade (MEM30205)
As a Fitter Apprentice, you'll develop skills in mechanical maintenance, repair, assembly and installation across a range of industrial projects.
You will gain experience working on:
- Truck fitting and assembly
- Valve maintenance and repair
- Power station maintenance work
- Train wagon maintenance projects
- Mine site shutdowns and maintenance activities
- Custom builds and specialised projects
You will learn how to:
- Assemble and fit mechanical equipment
- Service and maintain industrial components
- Read and interpret technical drawings
- Use precision measuring equipment
- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues
- Work safely within industrial environments
What You'll Be Doing
Throughout your apprenticeship, you will:
- Learn trade skills from qualified tradespeople and mentors
- Perform duties appropriate to your stage of training
- Assist with operational and project work
- Complete TAFE and workplace training requirements
- Maintain training records and logbooks
- Work safely with tools, equipment and machinery
- Follow company procedures and workplace safety requirements
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment
What We’re Looking For
To be successful, you will:
- A genuine interest in learning a trade
- Commitment to completing a four-year apprenticeship
- Ability to regularly attend TAFE training
- A current driver's licence or reliable transport
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Ability to balance work and study commitments
- High attention to detail and quality standards
- Physical capability to perform manual tasks
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening
