FMS Group is looking for an experienced and commercially minded Financial Controller to join our Finance team and play a key role in driving financial control, reporting, governance and business performance across the Group.
This is a senior Finance prospect for a qualified accounting professional who enjoys working closely with operational leaders, influencing business outcomes and leading a high-performing Finance function.
About the Role
Reporting to the General Manager Group Finance, you will lead the Group’s core financial accounting, reporting, financial control, treasury and compliance functions.
You’ll be responsible for ensuring our financial information is accurate, timely and meaningful, while providing the financial insight and governance needed to support sound business decisions.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading month-end and year-end financial close processes.
- Overseeing Group financial reporting, P&L;, balance sheet and cashflow reporting.
- Maintaining strong financial controls, governance and accounting standards.
- Reviewing business unit performance, financial results, variances and working capital.
- Supporting quarterly forecasting and financial analysis.
- Overseeing statutory reporting, audit requirements and compliance obligations.
- Managing banking, financing facilities, covenant reporting and lender requirements.
- Overseeing Group cashflow forecasting and working capital management.
- Leading, coaching and supporting Finance Business Partners and Finance team members.
- Driving improvements across Finance systems, processes, controls and reporting.
- Providing financial insight and commercial support to the CFO, ELT and business leaders.
About You
You’re an accomplished finance professional who can balance technical accounting expertise with commercial thinking and strong stakeholder management.
You will ideally bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting,
Finance or a related discipline.
- CPA or CA qualification.
- Strong financial control, technical accounting and month-end experience.
- Demonstrated experience in financial reporting and balance sheet governance.
- Experience leading Finance teams and working across multiple business units.
- Strong knowledge of cashflow, working capital, treasury and financing facilities.
- Advanced ERP, Excel, reporting and financial modelling skills.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
- A proactive, commercially minded approach to identifying financial risks and opportunities.
Experience in mining services, construction, engineering, manufacturing or the resources sector will be highly regarded.
