Details: WorkSafe ACT is a fully independent office headed by the Work Health and Safety Commissioner. We protect workers and workplaces through compliance, enforcement, education, inspection and investigation.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated leader to fill the permanent role of Assistant Director, Compliance and Enforcement Operations within the Compliance and Enforcement Branch.

In this role, you will lead a team of Inspectors responsible for compliance and enforcement activities under the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 and associated legislation. You will oversee operational planning, incident response, regulatory decision-making and stakeholder engagement to support WorkSafe ACT's strategic objectives.

The successful candidate will have robust leadership skills, sound judgement and experience working in a regulatory, compliance, investigation or enforcement environment. You will be an effective communicator who can build productive stakeholder relationships and manage complex operational matters.

Eligibility/Other Requirements:

- Ability to perform the functions of an authorised Inspector in accordance with relevant legislation, including completion of required training.
- Current unrestricted driver's licence.
- Willingness to participate in an after-hours on-call roster when required.
- Willingness to participate in programmed after-hours compliance activities.
- Willingness to wear a uniform.
- Relevant qualifications or experience in WHS, regulation, investigations, compliance, audit, law enforcement or law are highly desirable.

Note: This is a permanent position.
