An exciting opportunity exists to join the Surgical Services Education Team, in the role of Clinical Nurse Educator for Anaesthetics and PACU.
The CNE is responsible for enhancing skills and knowledge by providing education that is based on current best practices. This includes planning, coordinating, delivering, implementing, and evaluating clinical education needs, as well as assisting with educational requirements across the organisation. The preferred applicant will have solid clinical skills, experience in clinical nursing education, well developed communication and interpersonal skills and have the motivation to develop and support others.
About you:
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
- Minimum 5 years post registration experience in Peri-operative Nursing, specialising in Anaesthetics and Post Anaesthetics Care Unit
- Advanced clinical skills within the field of Anaesthetics and PACU nursing
- In-depth knowledge of the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards, ACORN standards, Hospital Policy,
relevant legislation and best practice
- Sound knowledge of Department of Health Guidelines and Regulations, Workplace Health and Safety, Infection Control and their impact on the delivery of care
- Proven ability to work within a team
- Demonstrated experience in education, competency assessment, preceptorship and mentoring.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and confidence using Learning Management Systems to monitor compliance, reporting and education completion.
- Strong organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate across multiple departments and disciplines
- Commitment to best practice, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Post graduate qualifications in Anaesthetics / PACU nursing
- Certificate IV in training & assessment (or willingness to work towards)

In this role you will be based at the Mater hospital, North Sydney.
- One of Sydney's premier private hospitals.

- Core specialties include Obstetrics, Orthopaedics including hip and knee joint replacements, bone and sports injuries, cardiology, cancer care and surgery, lung and vascular medicine, ear, nose and throat surgery, urology, endocrine surgery, and neurosurgery.
