About the role

APS Earthmoving is seeking an experienced Civil/Demolition Operator to join our growing team in Brisbane. This is a full-time position based in Brisbane QLD 4000, offering the opportunity to work on diverse civil and demolition projects across the region. As a Civil/Demolition Operator, you will be responsible for operating heavy plant and machinery on construction and demolition sites, playing a crucial role in the successful completion of our projects. This position is integral to maintaining our high standards of safety, efficiency and professionalism on site.

What you'll be doing

- Operating heavy plant and machinery including excavators, and other demolition equipment safely and efficiently

- Conducting pre-operation inspections and routine maintenance checks on all equipment to ensure optimal working condition

- Following site-specific safety protocols, procedures and environmental regulations at all times

- Communicating effectively with site supervisors, spotters and other team members to coordinate activities and ensure site safety

- Loading, unloading and transporting materials and debris as required

- Assisting with site setup and preparation of demolition and civil works areas

- Maintaining accurate records of equipment usage, hours and any incidents or damage

- Contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and best practice on site

What we're looking for

- Current and valid licences for the operation of relevant heavy plant machinery

- Proven experience as a plant operator in civil construction or demolition environments

- Strong understanding of site safety requirements, including Work Health and Safety (WHS) regulations applicable in Queensland

- Excellent communication and teamwork skills with the ability to work collaboratively with site personnel

- Physical fitness and the ability to work in varied weather conditions and challenging environments





- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining equipment in good working order

- A valid driver's licence and reliable transport to site locations

- Experience with multiple types of heavy plant equipment is highly desirable

- Current First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain one

- Flexibility to adapt to project schedules and potential overtime requirements
