Railtrain is seeking a passionate and experienced Trainer / Assessor to join our Registered Training Organisation (RTO). In this role, you'll play a critical part in developing rail professionals by delivering high-quality training and assessment programs in rail operations, safeworking, and track protection to both internal and external clients.

About the Role
You will work closely with learners, operational teams, clients, and industry stakeholders to deliver engaging learning experiences while ensuring the highest standards of safety and compliance.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering rail operations, safeworking and track protection training programs.
- Conducting theory and practical assessments.
- Developing and maintaining training resources, assessment tools and learning materials.
- Supporting accredited and enterprise-based training programs.
- Conducting workplace observations and on-the-job assessments.
- Participating in validation, moderation and continuous improvement activities.
- Maintaining strong stakeholder relationships and industry engagement.
- Supporting compliance with RTO Standards, safety requirements, and company procedures.
This role offers a mix of office, classroom and field-based activities and may include regional travel and FIFO-based training delivery to support client requirements.
About You
You are a safety-focused rail skilled with significant operational experience and a genuine passion for developing others. You bring credibility through your industry knowledge and can confidently engage learners across a variety of environments.
To be successful, you will have:
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or equivalent).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Current C Class Driver's Licence.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively.
- Previous experience delivering training and assessment.
- Safeworking and track access accreditations.
- Current Category 1 Rail Medical.
