About the role
The successful applicant will perform carpentry work across a range of building, renovation, refurbishment and maintenance projects. The Carpenter must be able to work independently and collaboratively with other trades and site personnel.
Key responsibilities
Study and interpret building plans, drawings and specifications to determine materials, dimensions and installation requirements.
Select and order timber and other materials and prepare project layouts.
Measure, cut, shape and assemble timber and other building materials.
Construct and install wall, floor and roof framing.
Install flooring, doors, windows, external cladding, fascia panels, fixtures and fittings.
Complete internal fit-outs, renovations, repairs and general carpentry work.
Check completed structures and installations for accuracy, alignment and compliance with project specifications.
Identify and resolve carpentry and construction issues as they arise.
Coordinate effectively with other trades, supervisors and site personnel.
Ensure work is completed to the required quality and safety standards.
About you
Certificate III in Carpentry or an equivalent relevant trade qualification.
At least 1 year of relevant carpentry experience.
Demonstrated experience in framing, fit-outs, renovations, installations and repairs.
Ability to read and interpret building plans, drawings and specifications.
Sound knowledge of construction methods, materials and workplace safety requirements.
Robust attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Reliable, punctual and qualified approach to work.
Construction white card required.
Current Australian driver's licence preferred.
