Wallaroo Cafe & Restaurant is on the beautiful Yorke Peninsula, just 195 km from Adelaide (2 hours' drive northwest). Wallaroo is a popular coastal town known for its copper mining heritage, sandy beaches, fresh seafood, and family-friendly vibe. It's a busy stop for Peninsula tourists, locals, and highway travellers.

We are looking for a skilled and reliable Chef to join our team at Wallaroo Cafe & Restaurant. This is a full-time role with a salary between $70,000 and $80,000, depending on your experience. Sponsorship is available for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities
Plan and design menus that suit roadhouse customers and control food costs.
Estimate food and labour costs and place orders for supplies.
Supervise food preparation and presentation to keep high standards.
Work with Managers, Dietitians, and kitchen/service staff to solve issues.
Demonstrate cooking techniques and guide the kitchen team.
Prepare and cook a range of dishes to a high standard.
Ensure hygiene,



food safety, and health rules are followed.
Manage food storage, freezing, and preservation.
Train and coach kitchen staff.
Keep the kitchen clean and organised for busy shifts.

What We Are Looking For
Proven Chef experience in busy kitchens (roadhouse, café, or similar).
Solid cooking skills, food safety knowledge, and cost control.
Calm under pressure in fast-paced settings.
Attention to detail for quality food and presentation.
Team player with positive communication.
Ready for shift work including weekends and holidays.
