Our School

Ashcroft High School is located in South Western Sydney. The school aims to promote, develop and consolidate an integrated whole child, whole school approach to student learning and development, encompassing the intellectual, physical, social, emotional, moral, spiritual and aesthetic. We have an established School Health team that provides health services to support student wellbeing.

Purpose of the Role

We are seeking a passionate, experienced and skilled Speech Pathologist/Therapist to join our school community on a part-time basis, with hours negotiable. This is an exciting prospect for a Speech Pathologist/Therapist who is committed to supporting students' communication, learning and participation and who recognises the significant role that effective speech and language skills play in educational success. Working as an integral member of our multidisciplinary support team, the successful applicant will work with students identified by the Learning Support Team as requiring additional support with speech, language and communication. The role will involve:

· Conducting language screenings and identifying students requiring further assessment or intervention.




· Undertaking occasional comprehensive speech pathology assessments and preparing appropriate reports.
· Planning and delivering individual and group therapeutic sessions tailored to students' needs.
· Providing in-class support and developing targeted resources to support students' communication and learning.
· Building positive, trusting and supportive relationships with students.

· Maintaining accurate, confidential student records and relevant statistical and outcome data.
· Monitoring and communicating student progress and contributing to the evaluation of therapeutic programs.
· Working collaboratively with the School Health, Student Support Services, Welfare and Learning Support teams.
· Contributing qualified expertise to the development of holistic, student-centred support strategies.
