Personalised Care Assistant – BaptistCare

As a Personalised Care Assistant at BaptistCare, you will provide compassionate, respectful and person centred care to older people, supporting them to maintain their independence, dignity and quality of life. You will build positive relationships with residents and clients and take the time to understand their individual needs, preferences, routines and personal goals.

Your responsibilities will include assisting clients with activities of daily living such as personal hygiene, showering, dressing, grooming, mobility and continence care. You may also support clients with meal preparation and dining, medication assistance where appropriately trained and authorised, household tasks and other activities that contribute to their comfort and wellbeing.

You will encourage and support clients to participate in meaningful activities, social interactions and community activities wherever appropriate. You will promote independence by providing the right level of assistance while respecting each person's choices, cultural background, privacy and individual preferences.

Working as part of a supportive care team, you will communicate effectively with nurses, care staff,



families and other relevant specialists. You will accurately observe and report changes in a client's health, behaviour, mood or wellbeing and complete required documentation in accordance with BaptistCare policies, procedures and relevant care standards.

The successful candidate will demonstrate genuine compassion for older people, solid communication and interpersonal skills, reliability, patience and a respectful approach to providing care. Previous experience in aged care, disability support or community care is highly regarded, along with relevant qualifications such as a Certificate III in Individual Support or an equivalent qualification. A commitment to person centred care, workplace safety, confidentiality and BaptistCare's values is essential.

As a Personalised Care Assistant, you will play an significant role in helping clients feel safe, valued, respected and supported while enabling them to live as independently and meaningfully as possible.

Pay: $33.44 – $48.42 per hour

Expected hours: 38.0 per week
