TPAC is a wholesale trader of timber and woodworking products in Australia. We are seeking an experienced Timber & Wood Products Consultant to provide specialised industry knowledge and technical advice in relation to our timber product range and commercial timber activities.

This is an urgent requirement for a timber qualified with specific knowledge and practical experience in Indonesian hardwood species, particularly Merbau and Meranti.

Key Responsibilities
Provide specialised technical advice on timber and woodworking products.
Identify and assess timber species, particularly Merbau and Meranti originating from Indonesia.
Assess timber grade, quality, strength, durability, moisture characteristics, and suitability for different applications.
Provide technical advice on timber product specifications and customer requirements.
Advise on product selection and quality standards.
Liaise with timber suppliers regarding product specifications, quality, availability, and supply requirements.
Support timber product inspection and quality assessment.
Provide technical support to TPAC's sales and commercial teams.
Assist in resolving timber product and quality-related issues.




Provide specialised knowledge and guidance to the local team regarding Indonesian timber species and products.

Requirements
Minimum 3 years of relevant skilled experience in the timber, wood products, forestry, woodworking, or related industry.
Demonstrated practical knowledge of Indonesian timber species, particularly Merbau and Meranti.
Strong understanding of timber grades, quality, strength, durability, characteristics, and commercial applications.
Experience working with commercial timber products and supply.
Ability to assess and identify timber species and evaluate product quality.
Experience dealing with timber suppliers, customers, or commercial timber operations.
Relevant technical qualifications and/or substantial demonstrated industry experience.
Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Good English communication skills.

This is an urgent specialist consulting position requiring demonstrated industry experience and specialised knowledge of Indonesian hardwood timber, particularly Merbau and Meranti.
