About the role

The initial contract will last 6 months. It can be on a full time or part time basis. There is potential scope to roll into a permanent position. There is potential for immigration/sponsorship support for the right candidate.

Responsibilities and capabilities
Identifying faults and assessing vehicle performance by running tests
Responsible for performing a range of mechanical repairs including engines, steering mechanism, transmission, wheel alignment, air-conditioning, and braking systems etc.
Performing regular and preventative maintenance as per vehicle service manuals
Undertaking repairs for damaged vehicles, including those involved in accidents
Prepare and maintain detailed vehicle service records
Maintain and keep workshop in a clean, tidy and WorkSafe condition
Work in conjunction with the Car Hire Operation team to ensure vehicles are available to meet customer bookings




Inspecting internal systems and controls to ensure the vehicle is operating properly and in compliance with state regulations i.e. ensuring vehicle road worthiness
Maintaining and ordering inventory of spare parts for vehicles

Requirements
Trade qualified light vehicle mechanic
Must be proficient in spoken as well as written English, IELTS band 6 or more would be preferable
A minimum of 3 years work experience as a Motor mechanic
Hold a current driver's license
Must be able to inspect mechanical and electronic components, diagnose issues, and discuss possible resolutions and cost estimates with management
Must be able to work in a team as well as independently and must possess excellent organisation skills, time management skills, solid problem-solving skills, excellent analytical abilities, and attention to details
