About the role

This is a unique senior position combining workshop leadership and technical knowledge with the day-to-day management, customer service and administration of a busy mechanical workshop. The role suits an experienced Motor Mechanic or Diesel Motor Mechanic who is ready to transition away from being permanently on the tools and into a senior workshop management position. You will support technicians on the workshop floor, while also confidently managing customers, quoting, parts, suppliers, fleet requirements and general workshop administration.

Key responsibilities
Coordinate workshop workflow and job allocation
Support technicians with technical knowledge and repair planning
Review inspection findings
Prepare quotes and repair recommendations
Communicate with customers
Source and order parts
Liaise with suppliers
Manage fleet customers and purchase orders
Oversee job cards and invoicing
Monitor jobs and workshop productivity

About you
Extensive automotive workshop experience
Strong mechanical knowledge
Relevant Motor Mechanic or Diesel Motor Mechanic trade qualification highly regarded
Organised and confident communicating with customers and technicians
Computer literate
Able to prioritise changing workshop demands




Capable of taking genuine ownership of the position
