The Data Governance and Integration Group (DGIG) delivers on a wide variety of important health and welfare data linkage projects, with the aim of achieving better outcomes and supporting informed policy decisions by Government for these sectors. This furthers the AIHW's strategic goals of being trusted leaders in health and welfare data, cutting-edge producers of data sets and a robust strategic partner.

The Merging and Release Unit (MARU) is responsible for integrating data from multiple sources to deliver high-quality datasets for research and analysis. The unit leads the merging, testing and release of data assets while driving optimisation and automation initiatives to improve efficiency, scalability, quality and service delivery.

Data merging involves extracting and integrating approved content data from multiple sources into research-ready datasets. MARU ensures data is appropriately de-identified, prepares project-specific data extracts in accordance with approval requirements,



and securely provisions datasets for analysis within approved research environments. Consistent methods and controls are applied across on infrastructure projects.

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Analyst who can quickly adapt, work independently, and consistently follow standard operating procedures with minimal supervision

You will need to work with a high degree of accuracy and precision to align each extraction with data specifications of each project. You will be accessing and manipulating unit-record data in multiple ICT environments, for linkage projects. This requires well-developed organisational skills and ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities. Sound written communication skills are also required to correspond with other team members, linkers and Client Services personnel to support the preparation of each dataset.
