A well-established, multi-state building consultancy is seeking a Building Surveyor to join its Western Australia team.

With registered offices across South Australia, Northern Territory, and Western Australia, the business delivers a broad range of specialist services, combining local expertise with national capability. The team works across building certification, Crown and Defence projects, airport building control, inspections, and advisory services.

The Opportunity

This role offers the chance to work on a diverse range of projects while contributing to a collaborative and technically strong team.

You’ll be responsible for assessing building applications, conducting inspections, and delivering compliance advice in line with relevant state legislation and building codes. The preference is for a candidate with commercial building surveying exposure but we will also look at someone with residential experience who is looking to transition into commercial.

Key Responsibilities
Assess building permit applications in line with relevant regulations
Conduct site inspections and prepare detailed compliance reports
Attend design meetings and contribute to project discussions




Provide clear written and graphical communication of design solutions
Prepare status reports for clients and government authorities
Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation
Support internal workflow and operational processes
Assist Directors and Managers with policy and procedure development
Collaborate effectively within a project team environment

About You
Tertiary qualification in Building Surveying
Registered as a Building Surveyor (preferred)
Experience assessing building rules applications
Strong understanding of statutory frameworks and building legislation
Ability to manage projects within a risk management framework
Confident in handling complex or challenging applications
Robust communication, organisation, and stakeholder management skills
Proactive and team-oriented approach
