The Domestic & Family Violence Support Service provides specialist social work support to clients experiencing domestic and family violence through referrals from Emergency Departments and Domestic Violence Routine Screening services. As a Senior Clinician, you will deliver responsive, client-centred care focused on safety, wellbeing and recovery, while also providing specialist consultation and education to health specialists.
Key responsibilities
Provide specialist assessment, risk assessment, safety planning and brief therapeutic support to clients experiencing domestic and family violence.
Facilitate referrals and coordinated care pathways across health, legal, community and support services.
Deliver specialist consultation and advice to health specialists and multidisciplinary teams.
Develop and deliver education activities that strengthen workforce capability in responding to domestic and family violence.
Work collaboratively with health and partner agencies to support coordinated and effective responses.
Contribute to service development, quality improvement and continuous improvement initiatives within Violence, Abuse and Neglect services.
About you
A Bachelor degree in Social Work and eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
Demonstrated experience working with individuals and families impacted by domestic and family violence.
Advanced assessment, risk management and safety planning skills.
Strong communication, consultation and stakeholder engagement abilities.
Proven ability to work autonomously across hospital, community and outreach settings.
A commitment to trauma-informed, person-centred and culturally responsive practice.
Current work rights in Australia or be a permanent resident or citizen.
