19th August, ****Engineering Trades Australia (ETA) is currently seeking experienced Electricians with strong heavy industrial, brownfields construction and telecommunications/testing experience for a project at the Alcoa Portland Aluminium Smelter in Portland, Victoria.This is an initial short term project, with the client holding a 3-year contract, providing strong potential for ongoing work for the right candidates.Position DetailsLocation: Portland, VICProject: Alcoa Portland Aluminium SmelterStart Date: ASAPDuration: Initial short term, with potential for ongoing workRoster: 9-day fortnight / 8-hour days, with an initial 38-hour weekPay Rate: $***** per hour + penalties + allowancesOvertime: Initially 38 hours per week, so no overtime anticipated at commencementAbout the RoleWorking within a live heavy industrial environment, you will be involved in a range of brownfields construction and electrical installation activities,



including:Pulling and installing CAT 6 cablingInstalling media convertersRewiring conveyorsInstalling 6-foot screensElectrical testing and fault findingTelecommunications installation and testingGeneral electrical installation and maintenance associated with the projectRequirementsTo be considered, you will need:Current Victorian Electrical LicenseProven heavy industrial electrical experiencePrevious brownfields construction experienceTelecommunications/data cabling experienceStrong electrical testing and fault-finding skillsEWP High Risk Work License - desirableWorking at Heights - desirableConfined Space & Gas Test - desirableLVR CPRAbility to work safely within a live industrial environmentMust be clean shaven to comply with face-fit respiratory protection requirementsWhy Join the Project?
