This role is suited for professionals passionate about mainframe technologies and eager to contribute to high-impact systems across government and enterprise environments.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, test, and maintain COBOL-based applications in a z/OS mainframe environmentWrite and optimise complex SQL queries for DB2 for z/OSIntegrate COBOL applications with DB2 databases and IBM MQ messaging systemsManage user access and system security using RACFParticipate in code reviews, debugging, and performance tuningCollaborate with testers, analysts, and DevOps engineersContribute to system documentation and knowledge sharingSupport continuous improvement and modernisation efforts using Micro Focus toolsRequired ExperienceCOBOL (e.g., IBM COBOL for z/OS)DB2 for z/OS and SQL query optimisationDB2 utilities (LOAD, UNLOAD, REORG)COBOL-DB2 integrationRACF for user profile management and access controlIBM MQ for message queue integrationz/OS environment tools: JCL, TSO/ISPF, VSAM file handlingPreferred Experience/QualificationsMicro Focus Enterprise Developer / AnalyzerExperience in mainframe application modernisationFamiliarity with Agile and DevOps practicesBachelor's degree in Computer Science,
