The Data Enablement Lead role is responsible for embedding governance into the data platforms and operations in a way that is scalable, practical, and aligned to business outcomes.The role ensures that governance is not treated as a separate function but is integrated into core data workflows - driving consistency, enabling trusted data use, and supporting effective decision-making across Wesfarmers.Working closely with the Head of Data Intelligence, Advanced Analytics Manager, Data Governance and Enablement Manager, Digital Trust and the Technology and Architecture teams, the role defines and delivers the governance capabilities, processes, and standards required to support OneDigital's data objectives.
This includes aligning stakeholders, shaping platform requirements, and leading change to ensure governance is adopted pro-actively and delivers tangible value.Key accountabilitiesData enablement (including strategy, implementation, adoption, stakeholder engagement, change management, and cross-divisional alignment)Partner with the Head of Data Intelligence, the Advanced Analytics Manager and other key stakeholders as required to:Define and prioritise the data governance and enablement roadmapDefine and implement proportion, scalable and automated (where possible) approaches that help manage data, deliver services, and align data with strategic objectivesEnsure data owners and stewards are appointed and supportedDefine requirements and assess, select, procure, implement, monitor, and maintain solutions/tools that support data governance and enablement objectivesDefine data quality requirements, metrics, thresholds, targets, OLAs, and SLAs to meet business expectationsEnsure activities are performed to measure, monitor, and improve data quality in relation to the defined business expectations, including the appropriate reporting of data quality metrics and the performance in reacting to data quality issuesCreate and curate metadata, and ensure metadata is used to support data, analytics, and AI use casesDevelop and publish data lineage diagrams that visually represent the flow or movement of data from its origin to consumption, including its transformations and dependencies,



and ensure they are used to support impact analysisPartner with data, analytics, and business stakeholders to ensure governance supports value creating data use casesProvide data enablement support and training to support the implementation of Data-as-a-ServiceData governance (including governance, integration, risk management, compliance, and collaboration)Partner with the Data Governance and Enablement Manager and other key stakeholders as required to:Embed the data governance principles, requirements, and arrangements into platforms, processes, and practicesDesign and implement controls that are proportionate, automated where possible, and aligned to risk and value.
Monitor adherence to controls, and be responsible for regular reportingImplement appropriate compliance and assurance activities to oversee the effectiveness of the controls environment, including appropriate reporting to management and governing bodiesImplement appropriate incident management practices, and elevate risks and issues where required to senior managementSupport OneDigital, and relevant Wesfarmers initiatives from a data governance and data enablement perspectiveAct as a translator between technical teams and business stakeholdersExperience requiredExperience in data engineering, data platforms, or analytics engineering environmentsProven experience implementing or evolving data governance frameworks and operating models in a practical, delivery-focused contextExperience working in federated or multi-division organisations, aligning standards across different stakeholdersDemonstrated experience embedding governance into platforms, processes, and practices (not just defining policy)Driving adoption and change across business and technical teamsWorking closely with architecture and senior data leadershipExperience working in a small team and planning and delivering outcomes through influencing othersDeep knowledge of data governance and related knowledge areas including data stewardship, data quality, metadata management, data analytics, data literacy, data lineage, data classification, and data retention and disposalSolutions that support data governance and enablement objectivesKnowledge of data privacy laws, risk management, compliance, assurance,
