Job no: ******Work type: PermanentLocation: South BrisbaneCategories: AIN - Assistant in NursingAbout the roleMater Hospital Brisbane is seeking two enthusiastic Assistants in Nursing to join the team within the Central Sterilising Department (CSSD) on a permanent full-time (38 hours per week) or part time (32 hours per week) basis.
The successful candidate will be required to work on a rotational 24/7 roster which includes night shifts, weekends and public holidays.As the Assistant in Nursing you will perform all operational tasks required to provide efficient and effective sterile service within the Mater Health Services.
The position reports directly to the Nurse Unit Manager and indirectly to the Nursing Director and Director of Nursing.The Mater nursing team provides the highest level of specialist care to patients, their families, carers and visitors.Our team of industry professionals work together as a cohesive and collaborative unit, going above and beyond to provide an exceptional level of care and deliver the highest level of clinical standards for the patient and the unit.You will support the theatre and CSSD team in activities that ensure the provision of a safe and efficient sterilising service.
You will also participate in hospital quality management systems in the unit to ensure a continuous improvement focus.
Your enthusiasm and skills will see you seamlessly integrate into this outstanding team, assisting to provide an exceptional level of care and to hit-the-ground-running.About youMust hold / OR be enrolled in a Certificate III in Sterilisation Services (mandatory)Relevant experience and knowledgein undertaking Sterile Services functions at an operational level within a Hospital or other large organisationsAn understanding of a commitment to the Mater Mission, Values and their practical relevance to Sterile Services issuesEffective communication skills with staff,
