Yaandina Community Services is looking for a Youth Support Worker to join our Roebourne Youth Centre on a permanent part time basis.
We run centre-based after-school activities and holiday programs designed to support young people by helping them build resilience and manage their lives with confidence.
You'll work with a holistic approach, partnering with families and other service providers to create wraparound support in a welcoming, inclusive setting.
This is a hands-on role where you'll make a real difference in the lives of local young people.Duties include but not limited to.Build trust and deliver trauma-informed support to young people facing adversity, with a focus on their active participation in decision‐makingCreate and run low-barrier recreational and life skills programs tailored to diverse and disengaged youth in your communitySupervise the youth centre, respond calmly to incidents,



and work collaboratively with local community groups and service providersRole RequirementsCurrent Working with Children Check and National Police ClearanceValid driver's licence and Senior First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)Mental Health First Aid - Youth qualificationStrong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build trust with young people and families from diverse backgroundsCompetency in recognising early signs of distress and de-escalating volatile situations using trauma-informed approachesPreferred QualificationsCertificate in Youth Work (CH******) or a related qualificationDemonstrated understanding of socio-economic challenges and community dynamics affecting local young peopleExperience working with young people in community or youth service settings, with a track record of creating inclusive, low-barrier programsSalary and benefits:Hourly rate is based off the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award (SCHADS) pending qualifications and experience.Remote allowanceSuperannuationSalary packaging options availableConferences and training courses available
