The Catastrophic Injuries Support scheme provides treatment, care and support for people who sustain an eligible injury (spinal cord, traumatic brain, amputations, burns or permanent blindness) from a motor vehicle or workplace accident in Western Australia.
The scheme has delivered exceptional rehabilitation and independence outcomes for participants since it commenced in ****.
We want expressions of interest from medical specialists and allied health professionals to perform expert review panel roles as medical experts, convenor and deputy convenor.
Panels will be convened to resolve disputes about medical eligibility for scheme participation and about the treatment, care and support needs of participants.
Panel Members are appointed for a three year term.
Panel members are paid per panel they participate on.
To be eligible for appointment, Medical specialists and allied health professionals must:
be registered under Health Practitioner Regulation National Law to practise as a health skilled; and
have at least five years clinical experience and knowledge of current research and best practise in the relevant area.
Training and credentialing in the FIMTM (or WeeFIM® for children) is desirable, but is not a pre-requisite.
