The role
Suited to someone with around two years' experience in a similar accounts role, across both AP and AR, ideally in a similar professional services firm.
You'll take full ownership of accounts payable and support with accounts receivable and sub-consultant claim processing, resolving any discrepancies with Project Managers and the Project Accountant.
Key responsibilities
End-to-end accounts payable: processing supplier invoices, matching to POs and approvals, preparing payment runs, issuing remittances, supplier statement reconciliations, and credit card reconciliations (approx. 100 invoices/month)
Accounts receivable support: assisting with progress claims, entering approved variations, debtor follow-ups, and matching remittances to invoices (approx. 25 invoices/month)
Sub-consultant claim processing: matching claims to billing schedules, coordinating Project Manager sign-off, resolving variances,



and tracking claims against Security of Payments Act timeframes
General finance administration and support with month-end close
Skills and experience
Minimum two years' experience in a similar transactional accounts role
Prior experience in an architecture, engineering or professional services within progress billing/milestone-based invoicing environment
Strong attention to detail across data entry, coding, matching and reconciling
Proactive, organised and comfortable following up directly with Project Managers
Strong written and verbal communication skills, and discretion with confidential information
Familiarity with the Security of Payments Act
Comfortable with Project Management and Accounting software and can pick up recent processes quickly
