About the opportunity
We have an exciting Permanent, Full-Time opportunity for anexperiencedelectricity networkassetinspectorto join Energy Safe Victoria's Infrastructure Inspectionsdepartmentas a Compliance Officer (Electricity NetworkAssets).
Reporting to the Infrastructure Compliance Manager, you will play a key role inmonitoringthe safety and compliance of Victoria's electricity distribution networks.
In this field-based role, your primaryobjectivewillbe toinspect electricity network assetsto confirmcompliance with industry standards andlegislation.
Other duties will include responding tonetwork incidents,assistwithauditing processes andcontribute to enforcement activities whererequired.
Working closely with industry stakeholders, electricity distributionbusinessesandotherregulators, you will help ensure network operators are meeting their obligations and delivering safe outcomes for Victorian communities.

What you'll contribute
As a Compliance Officer (Electricity Network Assets), you will support Energy SafeVictoria's regulatory oversight of Victoria's electricity distribution network, helpingidentifyrisks, improve industrycomplianceand deliver safer outcomes for the community.
In this role you will:
Perform inspections of electricity network infrastructure,analyseresults and findings,generatereports,andrecord results into Energy Safe databases.




Respond toand review the circumstance of electricity networkincidentstoidentifypotential breaches of energy safety legislation
Exerciseappropriate powersto issue noncompliance and observations to prevent or stop unsafe situations and monitoring progress of corrective actions to mitigate potential risks.
Prepare compliance reports related to inspections and audits findings and ensure closure and rectification of findings.
Present evidence and information to support enforcement action where relevant.
This includes assisting with investigations and attending court as an informant whererequired.
Develop and manage effective relationships with major electricity company asset inspectors, internal and industrystakeholdersand other regulators.
Represent Energy Safe at forums, such as trade events or conferences to promote Energy Safe programs and initiatives.
Participate in the development and implementation of electricity network asset inspection programs and schedules, risk management practices,processesand controls and to ensure effective andaccuratedata management practices.
Contribute to the development and improvement of legislation , regulations, standards, codes, and practices.
Participate in the Energy Safe availability roster and carry out availability duties asrequired.

To be successful
We'relooking foran experienced electricitynetworkassetinspector.You'llbring a practical understanding of network infrastructure, sound knowledge of regulatory requirements and the confidence to engage with industry stakeholders to drive improved safety outcomes.
To be successful, you will have:
Certificate 2 in ESI – Asset Inspection (UET*****)
Significant inspection and auditing experience in the electricity distribution industry.
Sound knowledge of relevant Acts, Regulations and Codes of Practice with ability to interpret and apply where applicable.
Experience with or exposure to, quality assurance and risk management frameworks, as they relate to electricity network asset inspection practices.




High level communication,advocacyand dispute resolution skills that fosters effective relationships.
Ability to prepare reports and present to a diverse range of stakeholders or act as subject matter expert with respect to electricity network asset inspection practices.
Ability to analyse and problem-solve issues.
Interpersonal skills, including an ability to influence and keep internal and external stakeholders informed on safety matters.
Excellent organisational and planning skills.
Computer literacy including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
