ABOUT THE COMPANY.
Join a regional local government in South-West Sydney as a
StrategicContributions Planner
within the Strategic Outcomes team.
You will work alongside a collaborative team of planning professionals and play a key role in shaping Council's strategic planning framework, infrastructure planning and sustainable growth outcomes across the LGA.
ABOUT THE POSITION.
Reporting to the Manager Strategic Outcomes, you will play a pivotal role in delivering major strategic land use and planning policy projects, with a particular focus on Council's development contributions framework.
You will be responsible for reviewing contributions plans, managing calculations and invoices, undertaking strategic planning research and analysis, and providing timely planning advice to key stakeholders.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated strategic planner to gain exposure to complex planning projects while working within a supportive and close-knit team.
DUTIES.
Review and assist with the implementation of Council's Section 7.11 and 7.12 Development Contributions Plans
Manage and contribute to major strategic land use and planning policy projects
Undertake research, analysis and review of strategic planning frameworks and infrastructure needs
Review and negotiate development contribution calculations and prepare invoices where required
Provide timely and effective strategic planning advice and information to internal and external stakeholders
Liaise with key stakeholders and contribute to community consultation and engagement activities
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE.
Tertiary qualifications in Town Planning, Urban and Regional Planning, Geography, Accounting, Business, Law or a related discipline
Minimum 2 year of experience working with development contributions plans or within a strategic planning environment
Understanding of the NSW Environmental Planning and Assessment Act and Section 7.11 and 7.12 contributions frameworks
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities within tight timeframes
Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder engagement skills with a high level of attention to detail
