Fixed-term, full-time roles (until 18 December ****)VPS Grade 4.1 $100,894 - $114,476 plus superannuationLocation: Plummer Street Precinct, Port Melbourne (primarily)Free staff shuttle service from Southern Cross Station to Port MelbourneAbout this opportunityThe Victorian Electoral Commission (VEC) is now actively hiring for Advisors, Election Staffing to support the delivery of the **** Victorian State Election.This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping and delivering workforce initiatives that support one of Victoria's largest and most complex staffing programs.
Working within the Election Staffing team, you'll contribute to large-scale recruitment campaigns, workforce planning projects, staffing strategy initiatives and operational readiness activities that help ensure elections are delivered successfully across the state.We're looking for candidates who enjoy solving complex problems, working collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders and driving projects from planning through to implementation.

The VEC offers a collaborative, value-driven workplace with a solid focus on integrity, inclusion, accountability, and service excellence.A day in the life of an Advisors, Election StaffingAs an Advisor, Election Staffing, you'll work across a range of strategic and operational workforce initiatives that support the recruitment, appointment and deployment of thousands of election staff across Victoria.You may be leading components of major staffing projects, analysing workforce trends and performance data, developing new processes and procedures, coordinating recruitment campaigns,
or partnering with stakeholders to improve workforce outcomes.Responsibilities may include:Coordinating and delivering staffing projects and workforce initiatives within agreed timelinesSupporting the design and implementation of large-scale recruitment and onboarding campaignsAnalysing workforce data and preparing reports, insights and recommendationsDeveloping and improving staffing processes, procedures and operational documentationMonitoring project milestones, risks and deliverables and recommending solutions to emerging issuesCollaborating with internal stakeholders and external partners to support workforce planning activitiesSupporting the enhancement and effective use of staffing systems, databases and digital toolsProviding advice and recommendations on staffing operations, workforce planning and project deliveryContributing to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance service delivery, compliance and operational effectivenessSupporting project reviews, evaluations and lessons-learned activities following key election eventsWhat we're looking forTo be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:Experience coordinating or delivering projects in complex, fast-paced operational environmentsStrong workforce planning, recruitment, staffing operations or HR project experienceExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and utilise workforce dataStrong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skillsExperience developing or improving policies, procedures or operational processesHighly developed written and verbal communication skillsStrong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlinesA proactive and adaptable approach, with a focus on achieving outcomesConfidence using systems, databases and Microsoft Office applications, including ExcelA commitment to continuous improvement and delivering high-quality stakeholder outcomesExperience in high-volume workforce environments, election operations, recruitment, labour hire,
project delivery or public sector settings will be highly regarded.Working arrangementsThese roles will initially operate under a hybrid working arrangement, with up to two days working from home each week.As election activity increases, attendance requirements will change.
