Band 5 - $83,421 - $96,065per annum (dependent on experience) plus superannuation

The Role
This role plays a key part in growing Kingston's urban forest through the planning and delivery of Council's annual street and park tree planting program.
This is a hands‐on role combining field inspections, contractor management, community engagement and program planning.
Plan and oversee tree planting works across our streetscapes, parks and other Council‐managed lands
Identify suitable planting locations and select appropriate tree species
Coordinate and oversee tree planting contractors to deliver high-quality planting works safely, on time and within budget




Regular engagement with residents to respond to enquiries relating to proposed street and park tree planting programs
Monitoring maintenance of newly planted trees to ensure good tree establishment and survival rates
Maintain accurate records of planting activities, species selection, and site conditions to support reporting and continuous improvement
About You
Demonstrated experience in horticulture or arboriculture (formal qualifications in these fields and previous experience in tree planting operations will be highly valued)
Practical knowledge of tree species selection, planting techniques, and tree establishment
Strong contractor management and customer engagement skills
Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
Strong record‐keeping and reporting skills (ability to use spreadsheet programs will be highly valued).
