About the Company
n
The Infrastructure Services Division within the Queensland Department of Education manages approximately $2 billion in annual infrastructure investment and a $40 billion asset base, supporting the delivery of quality education infrastructure and services across Queensland.
n
The Transformation Management Office (TMO) provides governance, coordination and oversight of the Business Transformation Portfolio, driving improvements in governance, asset lifecycle management, financial oversight and organisational capability.
n
About the Role
n
As Principal Program Officer, you will play an important role in the effective operation of the TMO and delivery of the Business Transformation Portfolio.
n
Working closely with Program and Project Leads, Business Owners, Finance, executives and other stakeholders, you will provide high-level coordination, governance, reporting, planning and assurance support.
n
Your responsibilities will include coordinating portfolio governance activities and executive committee documentation; monitoring risks, issues, dependencies, changes and assurance actions; and providing practical advice on governance and portfolio requirements.
n
You will also coordinate monthly and quarterly reporting, analyse portfolio performance and translate complex program, financial and delivery information into clear executive-level insights. You will monitor commitments, budgets and resourcing pressures while helping identify opportunities to improve TMO processes, tools, templates and ways of working.

About You
n
You are an adaptable and highly organised program or portfolio professional who can confidently move between detailed coordination and analysis, stakeholder engagement and executive-level communication.
n
You will bring significant experience in portfolio, program or project management, ideally within a Portfolio Management Office, Transformation Management Office or similarly complex delivery environment.
n
n
Experience across governance, executive reporting, planning, risk and issue management, assurance and financial monitoring.
n
Strong analytical and written communication skills, with the ability to turn complex information into clear advice, briefs and reports.
n
Strong stakeholder engagement skills and sound judgement when navigating competing priorities.
n
Contemporary knowledge of program, project and portfolio management principles and methodologies such as PMBOK, PRINCE2, MSP and P3M3.
n
A proactive, adaptable approach and willingness to take ownership across a broad range of TMO activities.
n

Government or similarly complex delivery-environment experience is desirable, as are relevant tertiary qualifications or certifications such as PRINCE2, MSP or P3O. Familiarity with tools including Power BI, SharePoint and Excel will also be advantageous.
