The Opportunity
We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and dedicated
male-identifying Support Worker
to join our team.
For this specific role, we are seeking someone who
identifies as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community
, as requested by the participant, to provide ongoing Community Access supports.

Recurring Weekly Supports
One 6-hour shift per week
Day to be agreed upon with the participant
Ongoing opportunity with potential for additional hours as services grow
About the Participant
You will be supporting a participant who is looking to build greater confidence, independence, and meaningful social connections through community participation.
The participant has requested a
male LGBTQIA+ support worker
, ideally aged between
20 and 30 years
, who they can comfortably relate to and build a genuine,
trusting relationship with.
They value authenticity, respect, and someone who is easy to connect with while encouraging them to participate more actively within the community.
This role focuses on creating a safe, affirming, and supportive setting where the participant feels understood, respected, and empowered to work towards their personal goals.
Responsibilities of the Role
As the participant's Support Worker, you will:
Facilitate meaningful community access and participation.
Support the participant to attend social and recreational activities.
Build confidence, independence, and community engagement.
Foster a positive, respectful, and trusting support relationship.
Encourage the participant to develop social connections and achieve their NDIS goals.
Deliver supports using a person-centred, strengths-based, and trauma-informed approach.
Maintain accurate progress notes and documentation.
Communicate effectively with the participant, families (where appropriate), and the Chosen Family Operations Team.
Looking For (Ideally)
Male-identifying support worker (participant preference).
Identifies as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community (participant preference).
Ideally between
***** years of age
to align with the participant's preference.
Friendly, engaging, approachable, and easy to build rapport with.
Patient, respectful, and emotionally intelligent.
Passionate about empowering people to achieve their goals and increase independence.
Reliable, punctual, and committed to providing consistent supports.
Previous disability support experience is highly regarded but not essential.
Applicants Must Have
NDIS Worker Screening Check.
Current Working with Children Check (if applicable).
Current First Aid & CPR Certificate.
Current Australian Driver Licence.
Reliable, comprehensively insured vehicle (preferred).
Smartphone for documentation and communication.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong understanding of person-centred practice and LGBTQIA+ affirming support.
