The Department
Alfred Hospital's Radiology Department is a one of Melbourne's leading tertiary teaching and trauma hospitals.
Alfred Radiology Department values education and career development and utilises modern technologies across all modalities to image challenging patients.
The Role
The Grade 3 General Radiographer is a leadership role working with and at the direction of the Grade 4 General X-ray Supervisors.
The successful candidate will rotate through all aspects of general x-ray including inpatients, outpatient, emergency, theatre and mobile radiography.
There is a requirement to participate in after-hours shift and on call services due to the department's 24-hour operation.
Your role would be to provide supervision and leadership across general x-ray services by:
Facilitating daily operations
Providing training, feedback and support to staff
Communicating effectively and respectfully
Promoting a culture of safety
Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders
Participating in quality improvement and change projects
Participating fully in clinical work to provide the best possible radiographic examinations ensuring patient comfort, welfare and safety in accordance with departmental protocols, ethics and code of conduct
Other duties as required by the Grade 4 General X-ray supervisors and/or Chief Radiographer
Qualifications and Experience Required
Bachelor of Applied Science in Medical Radiations or equivalent
Eligibility for A.S.M.I.R.T. Statement of Compliance
National Registration with AHPRA to practice as a Medical Imaging Technologist
Victorian Department of Health Use Licence
Evidence of CPD in line with registration requirements
Excellent communication skills
