The Role
The Breathing Space Support Officer provides high-quality administrative and operational support to ensure the effective delivery of the Breathing Space program.
As a key point of contact, the role supports client intake, responds to enquiries, maintains accurate records, and provides compassionate information and referral assistance to individuals experiencing crisis or distress.
Key Responsibilities
Provide administrative and operational support to ensure the effective delivery of the Breathing Space program.
Act as a key point of contact for clients, referring agencies and stakeholders, delivering responsive, compassionate and professional customer service.
Coordinate client intake, referrals, appointments and program documentation, ensuring accurate and confidential record keeping.
Maintain databases, client records and information systems, supporting reporting, compliance and data quality requirements.
Build effective stakeholder relationships and identify, elevate and respond appropriately to risks, safeguarding concerns and complex client matters.
This is apermanent part-timerole working45.6 hours per fortnight.
Flexibility to work from any of Communicare's metropolitan locations is required.
About You
Relevant qualification in Business Administration, Community Services or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Demonstrated experience providing administrative support, maintaining accurate records and using client or information management systems.
Strong organisational, time management and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a customer-focused approach and the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Experience supporting client intake, referrals and enquiries, including responding sensitively to vulnerable people and escalating complex matters appropriately, with knowledge of privacy, confidentiality, family and domestic violence, and trauma‐informed practice.




Satisfactory Police clearance (not older than 6 months from the issue date)
Unrestricted drivers' licence
Working With Children Check
Willingness to obtain Department of Justice integrity clearance
