Job Description
Our client, a well-established global manufacturer and technology leader within the electrical test and measurement industry, is seeking an experienced Electrical Test & Measurement Technician to join its Sydney-based service operation.
n
This is a hands-on technical position focused on the calibration, testing, troubleshooting and repair of specialized electrical and electronic test equipment used across low-, medium- and high-voltage applications.
n
The successful candidate will ideally come from an
electrical/electronics
service, calibration, instrumentation, metrology or test-equipment environment and have strong diagnostic skills, including the ability to identify and repair faults at component level.
n

Key Responsibilities
n
n
Calibrate, test, troubleshoot and repair electrical and electronic test and measurement equipment.
n
Work with specialized equipment used in LV, MV and HV electrical applications.
n
Diagnose electrical and electronic faults down to component level.
n
Perform corrective repairs and verify equipment performance following repair.
n
Conduct incoming equipment inspections, functional testing and quality checks.
n
Read and interpret circuit diagrams, schematics and technical documentation.
n
Prepare accurate service, repair and calibration reports.
n
Ensure work is completed in accordance with applicable Australian Standards, quality procedures and safety requirements.
n
Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to customers by phone and email.
n
Maintain accurate service records, workshop equipment, tools and inventory.
n
Support continuous improvement initiatives within the service department.

What We're Looking For
n
n
Hands-on experience troubleshooting and repairing electrical or electronic equipment.
n
Experience with calibration, instrumentation, electrical testing or test and measurement equipment.
n
Demonstrated ability to perform component-level fault diagnosis and repair.
n
Strong understanding of electrical theory and measurement principles.
n
Ability to read and interpret circuit diagrams, schematics and technical documentation.
n
Certificate III, Certificate IV, Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Instrumentation or a related technical discipline.
n
Solid attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and quality.
n
Good technical documentation and reporting skills.
n
Strong communication skills and the ability to provide professional technical support to customers.

Highly Regarded Experience
n
Candidates with any of the following experience will be particularly attractive:
n
n
Experience working within a NATA-accredited calibration laboratory.
n
Calibration and repair of electrical test instruments.
n
Experience with high-voltage test equipment.
n
Previous exposure to utility, power generation, industrial or electrical-service customers.
n
Experience working within an ISO **** quality environment.
n
NSW Restricted Electrical License or willingness and ability to obtain one.
n
n
Candidates from calibration laboratories, electrical test-equipment manufacturers, instrumentation companies, utilities, HV service organizations and industrial electrical service environments are encouraged to apply.
