Job Description
The Molding Technician position is very "hands-on" and will require making necessary changes and adjustments to the technical blow molding and auxiliary equipment in a safe and controlled manner.
n
We pride ourselves on quality products being made to controlled specification and continuing to optimize the performance of machine and or process.
n
Your key responsibilities will be to:
n
n
Ensure correct changeover and set up of product tooling during the shift
n
Ensure correct changeovers of moulded product during the shift (i.e. colour changes, material changes).as per the production plan
n
Making machine adjustments as per the setup sheet and training to maintain a quality product
n
Set-up of ancillary equipment (i.e. blenders, leak detectors, robotic systems, IML systems, vision systems).
n
Assist the Shift Supervisor and Operators with successful completion of each production run.
n
Performing process troubleshooting, part inspections and various other functions to insure part conformity and quality
n
Verifying paperwork for jobs and completion of inspections at start up of jobs and in process inspections
n
Maintain machine and ancilliary equipment processing parameters to ensure quality, weight and cycle time compliance
n
Prioritizing of work and machines to the production plan to ensure Customer deliveries are made on time and in full with no defects
n
Mechanical maintenance of machines and ancilliary equipment to ensure they are kept in satisfactory condition
n
Working overtime when required also working Weekends as required
n
Packing product during meal breaks and slow down periods.
n
Forklift Driving as required
n
n
Your skills and experience
n
To be successful in this role, you'll have:
n
n
5+ years' experience in a Process, Die Set-up or Die Maintenance capacity in a manufacturing environment, plastics experience important.
n
Mechanical and technical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical and complex mechanical equipment.
n
Demonstrated experience with trouble shooting issues with extrusion blow molding machines.
n
Demonstrated knowledge of plastic materials and processes; including a general knowledge of mold design and operation; in extrusion blow molding processes; as well as proven familiarity with auxiliary equipment involved in blow molding.
n
Ability to perform and recognize bottle quality and operating efficiency.
n
Quality and dependability is a must to every employee!
n
Minimum high school diploma or equivalent, technical or vocational training a plus
n
Cert III in Process Polymer Moulding or equivalent
n
