Position Title HSIE Teacher
Reporting Manager Head of HSIE
Role Purpose All teachers have the responsibility to support Danebank's aspiration and intent, upholding its core values and Christian foundation.The HSIE teacher is passionate about learning and deeply committed to thewellbeing and growth of each student.In partnership with their Head of Department, the HSIE teachercollaborates, shares teaching practice, and brings innovative ideas topromote a culture of continuous improvement.The HSIE teacher delivers an inspiring and differentiated learning programthrough high quality teaching in order to develop deep understanding anddevelop students as reflective and powerful learners. The teacher ensuresprofessional compliance, supports policy and follows school procedures andsystems.Every teacher is expected to be involved in the learning, student care,outdoor education and co-curricular programs as these are pivotal to theholistic development of each student.
Specific Duties andResponsibilities
Actively support the Christian ethos of the school, modelling a Christianexample in all activities.Create inclusive,
safe and supportive learning environments that modelTeaching and Learning
● Maintain a sound understanding of the content and structure ofthe NESA curriculum and contemporary learning.
● Support students to learn how to learn, developing individuals asself directed, powerful learners.
● Plan and teach well-sequenced teaching and learning programsthat engage students and promote learning.
● Provide rigorous academic learning, supporting students to achievetheir personal best and pursue learning growth throughpersonalisation of learning.
● Implement best practice teaching and learning strategiesappropriate to the learning of the girls.
● Purposely integrate literacy, numeracy and ICT into teaching andlearning programs.
● Regularly monitor and assess student learning and growth andanalyse data to inform and improve teaching practice.
● Inspire and engage students and to develop in them a love andappreciation of mathematics.
● Ensure that positive and constructive feedback is provided tostudents in a timely manner to improve the students'
● Maintain all administrative records to a high standard includingprogrammes and registers, attendance, wellbeing, NCCD,assessment and reports.

Professional Development● Share knowledge and resources, develop skills and ensure best
practice principles are applied across the department andDanebank's skilled learning community.
● Actively seek appropriate and timely professional development.● Engages in the regular performance appraisal process and
professional development practices of the school.● Participates in accreditation processes.
● Adhere to a holistic approach to student learning, engaging withthe school's Becoming Framework for student development.
● Work in collaboration with Head of Department, departmentalcolleagues and Year Coordinators to address student managementand behavioural issues.
● Work collaboratively to deliver the Student Wellbeing programs,refer students to specialist staff where required and liaise withmiddle leaders as appropriate.
● Establish rapport with students and provide ongoingencouragement to support students' emotional and social
● Maintain professional confidentiality on information aboutstudents.
● Provide the appropriate duty of care and supervision of students.Communication and Engagement
● Establish and maintain effective and respectful relationships withstudents, staff and parents.
● Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents/carers.● Plan and participate in excursions.● Respond to parent enquiries regarding curriculum and student
matters in a timely manner to ensure positive outcomes for

● Be available to assist students out of class where needed,

and/ or Experience
● A commitment to the Christian mission of Danebank,demonstrating a commitment to Christian teaching practice.
● Experience in teaching senior HSIE subjects, specifically BusinessStudies, VET Business Services, and Geography.
● Ability to deliver effective pedagogy in an innovative and engagingmanner.
● Effective interpersonal communication skills and the ability to workcollaboratively with colleagues and parents.

● Technologically literate and experienced in the integration oftechnology into every aspect of students' learning.
● Willingness to actively engage in co-curricular activities.● Commitment to personal and professional development.
Essential Qualifications Essential:● Qualification in secondary education.● Tertiary qualification in HSIE subjects.● Accredited with NESA.● Working with Children check required.● Capable of teaching Stage 6 Business Studies, and Business Services● Ability to teach junior Geography.
● Capacity to teach Commerce
