We are seeking an experienced Counsellor to join our dedicated Well-being Team to support residents and their families at Ayers Rock Resort, which is 20 min drive from Uluru, one of Australia's most iconic and culturally significant landmarks.
Ayers Rock Resort has a strong focus on Indigenous employment and the role works closely with the National Indigenous Training Academy.
About the role The Counsellor supports the social, emotional, spiritual and cultural well-being of residents working in Yulara through the provision of professional counselling services.
The key duties of the role include: Therapeutic assessment and counselling: using a trauma- informed, person-centred SEWB model.
Case management: working collaboratively with specialist services in Yulara, Alice Springs and other regional locations.
Community engagement and education: in partnership with the team, facilitate mental health awareness and training programs.
About you A Diploma, Bachelor or higher-level qualification in Counselling, Social Work or related field is essential.
You are an experienced practitioner with proven ability to provide individual and group counselling sessions covering a variety of issues including trauma, grief and loss, mental health, relationship concerns and substance use.
You will have high level skills in reflective practice and problem solving, with the ability to apply initiative and make informed judgements in the proactive management of complex situations, including responding to critical incidents: sexual assault disclosures, acute mental health risks, domestic violence, children at risk.




You understand the unique and diverse strengths and challenges facing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, with a willingness and capacity to listen and learn.
