Job Description
About the Role
n
As a Cook at our Bunbury Service Centre, you'll play a key role in enhancing the wellbeing of our residents by preparing nutritious, delicious meals tailored to individual needs.
n
Working closely with the Community Team Leader Southwest and team, you'll plan menus, manage food supplies, and ensure the kitchen remains safe, clean, and compliant with food safety standards.
n
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys cooking with purpose, values meaningful connections, and takes pride in maintaining high standards of food quality and hygiene.
n
This is a permanent part‐time position with 10 hours per fortnight. This position is based in Bunbury Service Centre.
n
You will need to be available Wednesdays from 8:00am -1:00pm.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
n
Develop menu plans in consultation with residents and management, catering to dietary requirements
n
Prepare and serve high-quality, nutritious meals with excellent presentation
n
Ensure adequate food supplies through effective shopping and stock management
n
Maintain strict food safety practices, including correct food storage, handling and labelling
n
Keep kitchen areas clean, hygienic and compliant with health regulations
n
Support small functions and communal meal preparation within the residence
n
Maintain kitchen equipment, utensils and inventory
n
Communicate effectively with staff to ensure residents' needs are consistently met
n

Must‐haves
n
n
Food Safe Food Hygiene certification (or willingness to obtain)
n
Previous experience in a similar cooking or hospitality role
n
Ability to plan and prepare nutritious meals within a budget
n
Strong understanding of kitchen hygiene and food safety standards
n
Positive communication and teamwork skills
n
NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
n
NDIS Worker Orientation Module
n
