The Opportunity
n We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead and develop a growing regional operation based in Armidale.
n
This is a hands-on leadership position with responsibility for people, performance, productivity and operational delivery. You will oversee the day-to-day operation, ensuring teams are structured effectively, workloads are managed efficiently, KPIs are achieved and customers continue to receive a high standard of service.
n
We are open to candidates from a range of industries. Experience within construction, insurance, property or trade-based services would be advantageous, but it is not essential. More important is your ability to lead people, manage a busy operation and create a high-performing, accountable culture.

Key Responsibilities
n
n
Lead the day-to-day operations of the Armidale team, ensuring workloads, resources and priorities are effectively managed.
n
Manage, mentor and develop team members, creating a positive, accountable and high-performance culture.
n
Monitor operational performance against agreed KPIs, productivity targets and service standards.
n
Identify areas for improvement and implement processes that increase efficiency, productivity and quality.
n
Support the continued growth and development of the regional operation, including building team capability as demand increases.
n
Ensure the right resources are allocated to workloads and operational requirements.
n




Provide transparent expectations, regular feedback and performance management across the team.
n
Analyse operational data and performance trends to identify opportunities, risks and areas requiring intervention.
n
Work closely with senior leadership and other departments to ensure operational objectives align with broader business goals.
n
Maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, contractors and other key stakeholders.
n
Ensure operational issues and escalations are dealt with quickly and professionally.
n
Drive continuous improvement across systems, processes, communication and service delivery.
n
Maintain appropriate standards around compliance, safety, quality and company procedures.
n

About You
n
n
You will be an experienced people and operations leader who enjoys taking ownership of an operation and improving the way it performs.
n
You will ideally bring:
n
Demonstrated experience in an Operations Manager, Branch Manager, Regional Manager, Service Manager or similar leadership position.
n
Proven experience managing and developing teams.
n
A strong understanding of KPIs, productivity, workflow management and operational performance.
n




Experience holding teams accountable while maintaining a positive and supportive working culture.
n
The ability to identify inefficiencies and implement practical operational improvements.
n
Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of how operational decisions impact business performance.
n
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
n
Confidence working in a fast-paced environment with multiple competing priorities.
n
A proactive, solutions-focused leadership style.
n
Experience growing or scaling teams and operations would be highly regarded.
n
n
Experience within construction, insurance, property, facilities management, manufacturing, logistics, field services, trades or another operationally focused environment would be beneficial, but is not a requirement.
n
