The Company
n
Our client is a well-established Tier 2 Mechanical Contractor delivering HVAC and mechanical services across a range of major commercial, industrial and infrastructure projects throughout Victoria.
n
The Role
n
Reporting into the senior management team, you will be responsible for managing the company's drafting function and ensuring projects are delivered with accurate, coordinated and high-quality mechanical documentation.
n
Your responsibilities will include:
n
n
Managing and mentoring a team of mechanical drafters.
n
Overseeing drafting deliverables across multiple projects.
n
Producing and reviewing detailed HVAC and mechanical services drawings.
n
Managing drawing standards, revisions and document control.
n
Coordinating mechanical services with architectural, structural, electrical and other building services.
n
Working closely with Project Managers, Engineers and Site Teams.
n
Assisting with design coordination and resolving construction-related drafting issues.
n
Managing project priorities, deadlines and drafting resources.
n
Reviewing drawings for accuracy, constructability and quality.
n
Supporting BIM/Revit coordination and clash detection.
n
Developing and improving drafting processes, standards and systems.
n
Liaising with consultants, builders and subcontractors where required.
n




Providing technical guidance and support to the wider project team.

About You
n
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
n
n
Previous experience within mechanical services / HVAC drafting.
n
Experience managing or leading a drafting team.
n
Strong AutoCAD and/or Revit MEP skills.
n
A solid understanding of HVAC systems and mechanical services construction.
n
Previous experience working for a mechanical contractor or building services contractor.
n
The ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines.
n
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
n
A practical understanding of how mechanical services are delivered on-site.
n
Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem solving.
n
n
Experience across commercial, industrial, healthcare, data centre or major infrastructure projects will be highly regarded.
n
