We're currently seeking a Brisbane-based
Estimating Cadet
to join GRAYATM. This is an entry‐level opportunity for a student currently studying
Construction Management
(or a related discipline), who wants to develop a long-term career with a strong foundation in
estimating, cost planning, and trade package pricing
.
As an Estimating Cadet, you'll gain hands‐on experience supporting the pre‐construction and delivery teams, learning how projects are priced, packaged, procured and managed through to build. You'll be mentored by experienced construction professionals, guided through a structured cadet development program, and exposed to the commercial realities behind high‐end construction delivery.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys detail, numbers, and structured problem‐solving, and who is genuinely curious about how luxury construction is priced and delivered.
What You'll Do
Learn the fundamentals of
cost planning, estimating, and trade package pricing
Support tender comparisons and assist in compiling trade scope information
Assist with subcontractor procurement processes and documentation
Help maintain accurate records of pricing, inclusions, scope changes and approvals
Develop confidence interpreting drawings, schedules,



specifications and finishes
Assist in issuing packages and supporting trade letting activities
Support contract execution processes and document control
Learn how procurement decisions affect buildability, timeframes, and project risk
Technical & System Development
Build capability in construction platforms including
Procure Pro
and
Procore
Gain exposure to programming and sequencing through
MS Project
and look‐ahead programs
Support accurate tracking and reporting across estimating and delivery workflows
Quality, Safety & Project Exposure
Participate in site inductions and understand how pricing decisions translate into delivery on site
Support quality outcomes through exposure to ITPs, defects processes and standards compliance
Learn WHS fundamentals including PPE requirements, SWMS reviews and reporting expectations
Professional Development
Develop written and verbal communication skills through reporting, documentation and team coordination
Demonstrate initiative by tracking cadet program sign‐offs and actively seeking learning opportunities
Build leadership behaviours through accountability, teamwork and professional conduct
University Support
Work and study concurrently, with




paid study and exam leave
Reimbursement for successfully passed subjects (subject to probation and program commitments)
Commitment to a
minimum 3‐year pathway with GRAYA upon graduation
Requirements
What You'll Bring
Currently enrolled in (or about to commence) a
Bachelor of Construction Management
or related discipline
Strong academic performance and the ability to manage study alongside work commitments
A genuine interest in
estimating, cost planning, numbers and construction pricing
High attention to detail and confidence working across structured documentation
Strong analytical mindset, problem solving ability, and willingness to learn
Confident communication skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork
