ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Council's Building and Depot unit sits within the City Services Directorate and focuses on compliance, operational maintenance, and safety of the fleet and building assets. Cumberland City Council manages over two hundred fleet assets across the LGA which provide a wide variety of services to our community.
In contributing to the overarching vision, the Fleet and Workshop Officer ensures efficient, cost effective, sustainable, and customer focused fleet procurement, management, maintenance and reporting to an industry best practice standard, as per Council's policies and procedures and all regulatory fleet requirements. Fleet in this position description refers to all Council vehicles and plant, both owned and leased.
The successful applicant will require:
Tertiary qualification in Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanics, Motor Mechanical, Fleet Management or equivalent experience
Extensive knowledge of fleet management principles
Experience in implementing plant utilisation and relevant budgeting information
Experience in research and analysis of fleet data and usage to drive business improvement
Knowledge of Transport for NSW registration and licencing processes, Toll services and infringement processing
Experience in external contracts and supply
Demonstrated customer centric approach to delivering services
Solid organisation and administration skills
Ability to communicate with team members and the public as well as dealing with sales representatives
Competent computer skills, including the Microsoft Office Suite of applications particularly Excel and financial and electronic document management systems
Class C Drivers Licence.

About this role:
Permanent, full-time position
70 hour fortnight
Access to Council's 9 day fortnight Accrued Day Off (ADO) arrangement
Located at Council's Guildford Depot, with frequent travel required across Council worksites, and may be required to work across any of Council's work locations
Salary information:
The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with the NSW Local Government (State) Award.
Grade 11 of the Cumberland Salary Structure with a salary range of $1,****** to $2,****** per week, plus 12% superannuation
The commencing salary will be negotiated, taking into consideration the successful applicant's qualifications,
skills and experience related to the role

What you'll need to have for this role:
The right to live and work in Australia
Be able to provide information for pre-employment checks required for the position, including attending a physical pre-employment medical examination as required
Participate in health monitoring as outlined in the risk assessment for this position and Council's Health Monitoring Procedure, as required.
