Primary STEM Teacher
At Immanuel Primary School, we are committed to providing education where each child is supported to grow and develop as a whole person. As we prepare for ****, we are seeking a practical, organised and enthusiastic Reception to Year 6 STEM Teacher, with a specialised focus on Food Technology and Environmental Science, including food and plant technologies, nutrition, food production, sustainability, wellbeing and responsible resource use.
This newly created specialist role involves developing and delivering an engaging, contemporary and integrated curriculum. Intentionally using the resources in our newly built ASPIRE Centre, the STEM Teacher will design learning and teaching that involves practical inquiry, authentic problem-solving and real-world context all in alignment with the ASPIRE teacher capability framework.
As a STEM Teacher, you will:
Teach within the framework of the Australian Curriculum and the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program.
Plan and implement student-centered learning that is evidence-based, engaging, and inclusive.
Deliver engaging, age-appropriate STEM learning that builds practical skills, creativity, independence and responsible decision-making within a Food Technology and Environmental Science context.
Effectively manage the classroom environment to foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Collaborate with colleagues, school leaders, and parents to support student needs and aspirations.
We are looking for someone with:
Suitable relevant teaching qualifications.
Knowledge and application of STEM,
with a specialised focus on Food Technology and Environmental Science, including food and plant technologies, nutrition, food production and sustainable resource use.
The ability to provide meaningful, hands-on opportunities for students to explore food and plant science through cultivation, food preparation and production.
A commitment to connecting STEM learning with student wellbeing, healthy and sustainable food choices, responsible resource management and real-world environmental challenges.
A solid understanding and experience in the Australian Curriculum and the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program Framework.
A passion and commitment to innovative student-centered learning.
Strengths in communication, collaboration, and classroom management.
A demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
A willingness to support the School's Christian values and ethos of our school.

'Building Foundations for Life' RESPECT - FLOURISH - SERVE Immanuel Primary is a school of the Lutheran Church of Australia established in ****. It is located on the same campus as Immanuel College Novar Gardens, in the western suburbs of Adelaide, 5 minutes from Glenelg beach and 12 minutes from the city centre.
