Are you a dedicated and skilled handyperson looking for flexible casual work in Sydney's South-West?
We are seeking energetic and reliable grounds and facilities maintenance staff to support our school communities within the Macarthur/South Western Sydney region on a casual basis as a Casual School Support Officer (SSO) – Maintenance & Outdoor.
Whether your expertise lies in general groundskeeping, lawn care, minor facility repairs, equipment operation, or routine grounds upkeep, this casual role offers the opportunity to keep our learning environments safe, vibrant, and well-maintained while building great connections across our school network.
Note: Obtaining casual approval makes you eligible to work as a Casual SSO (Maintenance & Outdoor) across Catholic schools within the Diocese of Wollongong (CEDoW), though it does not guarantee continuous employment.
Essential Application Requirements
To complete your application form successfully, please ensure you have the following ready:
·Relevant Experience/Qualifications: Demonstrated experience in building maintenance, landscaping, groundskeeping, or a relevant trade background.
·Child Safety Clearance: A current and valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) clearance for paid employment.
·Proof of Identity: Valid government-issued photo ID documents.
·Professional References: Satisfactory referee checks from recent professional supervisors.
·Employment Declaration: Satisfactory completion of the official CEDoW Employment Declaration form.

The Diocese of Wollongong is situated approximately 100 km south of Sydney, NSW, Australia. The diocese stretches from Ingleburn and Varroville in the north, through Helensburgh down the coast to Milton-Ulladulla and west through the southern highlands to Moss Vale. There are currently 29 systemic Catholic Primary schools and 9 systemic Catholic High schools in the diocese. There are also 7 Congregational High Schools within the diocese.
