About the Role

You will be responsible for the delivery of expert clinical care of patients undertaking a dialysis home therapy

Ensure safe, effective and individualised treatment plans are implemented and maintained

Educate patients, families and healthcare staff on both Peritoneal Dialysis and haemodialysis

Monitor patient progress and adjust care as needed to support optimal outcomes

Act as a key point of contact for patients, offering guidance and support throughout their therapy

Classifications for this position will range from YU15 ($111,930.00 per annum).

Your Contribution

Current Nursing Registration with AHPRA

Post registration qualification in Renal or working towards same.

Current Driving licence

Minimum 24 months previous experience in Renal Nursing and/or experience with Peritoneal Dialysis essential

Minimum 12 months experience in Haemodialysis desired

Experience in patient and staff education

Proficiency in clinical nursing assessment skills

Ability to work autonomously prioritise tasks and activities to foster good time management

Current National criminal history check, or willing to obtain

About the Dialysis Service

The SVHM Dialysis service provides both Peritoneal Dialysis and Haemodialysis, catering to a diverse range of patient needs, including satellite and home-based dialysis as well as nocturnal haemodialysis. On-site dialysis is available at St. Vincent’s Fitzroy, St Vincents on the Park, East Melbourne and St. George’s Hospital, Kew for patients with acute and chronic renal failure. The Dialysis Unit fosters ongoing professional development and promotes clinical nursing excellence within a cohesive and flexible team environment.
