About the role
This is a unique opportunity to help shape the future of Occupational Therapy education and workforce development across Metro North Health. Supporting services across adult physical health, paediatrics and mental health settings, you will work with clinicians, students and new graduates to strengthen clinical education capability and build high-quality learning environments that support professional growth and excellent patient care.
As the Senior Occupational Therapist – Clinical Education Support Officer, you will coordinate clinical education programs, support supervisors in developing the next generation of Occupational Therapists and contribute to a statewide program that drives innovation, consistency and excellence in Occupational Therapy clinical education. The role spans multiple facilities and service areas, providing significant variety and the prospect to influence workforce capability across the health service.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Coordinate and support clinical education programs for Occupational Therapy students and new graduates, promoting high-quality, consistent learning experiences across Metro North Health.
- Provide expert advice, mentoring and support to professional and operational supervisors, clinicians and stakeholders regarding clinical education standards and development opportunities.
- Apply advanced Occupational Therapy knowledge and clinical reasoning skills to support students, recent graduates and clinicians across a variety of practice domains and clinical settings.
- Collaborate with local and statewide Clinical Educators, universities and service partners to strengthen clinical education capacity, capability and innovation.
- Lead and contribute to quality improvement, service development and evaluation activities that enhance Occupational Therapy education and training outcomes across the health service.
