Job Description:
If you have strong customer service skills, enjoy building relationships and thrive in a quick-paced, outcome-focused environment, this could be the perfect next step.
Join yourtown's Transition to Work team and transform young lives. You'll provide essential pre-employment support, empowering young people to achieve their career goals and secure meaningful employment. Every day brings new challenges, new opportunities and the chance to make a genuine difference.
your opportunity
As a Job Placement Coach, you will work alongside young people to build confidence, develop practical employment skills and support them into meaningful and sustainable employment. This is a highly rewarding role where you'll coach, motivate and empower young people to achieve goals they may never have thought possible.
No two days are the same. You might be facilitating an engaging Job Club, helping a young person prepare for a job interview, meeting with local employers, celebrating a new job placement or supporting someone to overcome barriers standing in the way of employment.
If you enjoy helping people succeed, building relationships and working towards meaningful outcomes, this role offers the opportunity to create lasting impact every day.
Your role will include:
- Supporting young people to identify their strengths, set realistic goals and develop personalised action plans that build confidence, work readiness and progress towards employment outcomes.
- Coaching and motivating young people to build confidence, independence and workplace readiness.
- Developing personalised employment pathways that support individuals to achieve meaningful outcomes.
- Identifying barriers to employment and working collaboratively to develop practical solutions.
- Promoting participants to employers through reverse marketing and employer engagement activities.
- Supporting young people through recruitment processes, interviews and their transition into employment.
- Working towards KPI's and outcome measures that genuinely change lives.
what we are looking for
We believe great Job Placement Coaches come from all kinds of backgrounds. Whether you've worked in hospitality, retail, customer service, sales, recruitment or another people-focused industry, you understand how to build relationships, solve problems and deliver positive outcomes.
You genuinely enjoy working with people and are motivated by helping others achieve their goals. You're resilient, organised and thrive in a role where no two days are the same.
In addition, you'll bring:
- Exceptional customer service and relationship-building skills, with the ability to connect with people from all walks of life.
- A genuine passion for supporting young people to build confidence,
develop skills and achieve employment goals.
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to engage with young people, employers and community stakeholders.
- A positive, solutions-focused mindset and the ability to navigate challenges with empathy and resilience.
- The motivation to work towards KPIs and employment outcomes, knowing that every outcome represents a positive change in a young person's life.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a rapid-paced environment.
- Sound administration and digital skills, with the ability to accurately maintain records and learn new systems and processes quickly.
- Initiative, adaptability and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a supportive team environment.
- A high degree of emotional intelligence
Most importantly, you'll be someone who believes in people, celebrates success and is passionate about helping young people build brighter futures through employment.
