Role details

The Media and Communications team at the Mackay Base Hospital is seeking applications for a Senior Communications Officer to join their team on a temporary basis.

Your opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior Communications Officer to join the Media and Communications team within the Strategy and Governance portfolio at MHHS.

This role will focus on capital projects and infrastructure delivery, in addition to all general communications requirements.

It will ensure the MHHS communication strategies, policies and outputs are implemented and managed effectively through the provision of media relations, digital and internal communications. You will have the opportunity to develop highly effective and targeted media and communication services and strategies.

About the Team





The MHHS Media and Communication operates in a fast-paced environment and is responsible for internal and external communication.

About our Hospital and Health Service

has 6 hospitals, 2 multi-purpose health services and 4 community health centres that employ more than 3,500 staff. The district covers an area of approximately 90,000km2 and provides services to patients and their families in Bowen, Cannonvale, Clermont, Collinsville, Dysart, Glenden, Mackay, Middlemount, Moranbah, Proserpine and Sarina.
