About the role
The Lead Health Information Manager (Classification and Documentation) provides expert Health Information Management support within Health Information Services at Caboolture Hospital. The role is a recognised specialist in Clinical Documentation Improvement and Activity Based Funding, working closely with clinical services to optimise documentation quality, coding accuracy and Weighted Activity Unit outcomes.
The successful candidate will provide expert advice, education and operational support to service lines and Health Information Services, ensuring high-quality clinical documentation, coding practices and classification processes. The role also contributes to quality improvement initiatives, stakeholder engagement, data integrity and service development activities that support organisational performance and effective healthcare delivery.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Provide expert advice and education on clinical documentation, clinical coding, classification systems and Activity Based Funding methodologies.
- Lead clinical documentation improvement initiatives that enhance coding accuracy, data quality, service efficiency and funding outcomes.
- Collaborate with clinicians, managers and health information professionals to ensure the completeness,
accuracy and integrity of clinical information.
- Coordinate and contribute to clinical coding audits, quality improvement activities, performance reporting and compliance initiatives.
- Provide leadership, mentoring and specialist support to Health Information Services staff while promoting best practice health information management.
